Recently returning from being the keyboardist on Beyonce’s Formation Tour, Victoria Theodore came to Oakland and gave private lessons and 51Oakland master classes to students at Oakland Tech High School and Claremont Middle, which she attended years ago. The students got to learn technique from her, and hear about her career journey and the lessons learned along the way (learn many genres of music, don’t waste your time (TV, social media), practice and practice and practice).
51Oakland Inspirational Speaker Talk: Zion I aka Zumbi came to Fremont High, in the Fruitvale District of East Oakland, to share his music video “Tech $” and talk about gentrification, race, the Bay Area, spirituality, family and values. Very open and honest conversation with the Media Academy. Great way to start the school day.
